"The Important Phone Call" is a piece of choral music I wrote with the San Francisco Sinfonietta's Chorus in mind in 2003. It is a choral piece, but was premiered as a work for strings, by the Sinfonietta in 2004, directed by Urs Leonhardt Steiner. Here's the poster for the performance.
It is part of a larger work ~ a sound-art CD entitled "In the Cathedral of Airplanes".
Below you'll find mp3s for each of the parts ~ Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Bass. Also the entire piece can be played and sheet music can be printed ~ but you'll have to download some software for this part. I did it and it works fine. I also recommend the free application "Notepad" which this piece was composed with.
