"The Important Phone Call" is a piece of choral music I wrote with the San Francisco Sinfonietta (now Golden Gate Symphony) Chorus in mind in 2003. It is a choral piece, but was premiered as a work for strings, by the Sinfonietta in 2004, directed by Urs Leonhardt Steiner. Here's the poster for the performance.
It is part of a larger work ~ a sound-art CD entitled "In the Cathedral of Airplanes".
