During the election of 2020, I co-lead a project that created over 60 beautifully crafted artist-made campaign signs for progressive local Benicia candidates and placed them in yards across the city.

I made two of them.

The experience of working simply with house paint on the 18" x 28" panels that we used was liberating. I decided to continue the process after the election, and to create a temporal series of paintings using black and white latex paint and drawing materials heightened with acrylic color.

The panels are designed to be shown as a "timelineā€ - in linear fashion, left to right. They are my intuitive reactions to current events, starting with the election and pandemic, then insurrection, inauguration, vaccinations, and finally, the reopening.

The complete piece is 16 1/2 feet long, and covers October 2020 through July 2021.

Thanks to Jack Ruszel and Ruszel Woodworks for the panels.
